John Keane

John Keane is a contemporary artist based in London, whose extensive artwork addresses politics, conflict and climate change, and spans over 40 years.

What he needed

John needed a new website that would re-fresh his existing design and create a user-friendly digital space to showcase his significant archive.

The site need to curate his work chronologically by year and by exhibition, and present it as comprehensively as possible. This includes his work on political figures and historic events, such as the Gulf War, for which the Imperial War Museum commissioned him as an official war artist in 1990.

What we provided

Using Kirby CMS to build the site and catalogue his work, we re-created John’s previous user-friendly design with a new search feature to enable easy reference to everyone interested in his extensive archive.

Testimonial

Working with Paul to create a digital archive of my life’s work has made a necessary and challenging task far less daunting. He created a searchable archive with the creative and logistical solutions it needed and walked me through the whole process so that I can continue to add to the 700 odd works already featured. He instinctively understood the nature of the somewhat formidable task and was able provide help and support where I needed it.
